DJ Nappa ‘Redress’
As the producer & DJ behind Phi-Life Cypher, one of the UK’s most revered and respected Hip Hop groups, Nappa has been firmly cemented as one of the UK’s finest beat smiths for over 20 years. For this project Nappa stepped away from his usual way of working to create his first full length instrumental album, this is definitely not just a ‘beat tape’.
Drawing on his influences and years of digging this album really shows off Nappa’s diverse taste in music and his versatility as a producer all while still keeping it very Hip Hop. You do not want to miss this one!

Mr Brown ‘Angelic’ ft. MindsOne
‘Angelic’ is the brand new single from Mr Brown featuring Tronic & KON Sci of MindsOne. This one brings that classic boom bap sound with classy & emotive lyrics from the North Carolina duo. This is a digital only release available on all streaming platforms. However the bandcamp version includes an EXCLUSIVE remix by UK legend DJ Nappa (Phi Life Cypher) and both instrumentals.
Oblique Strategies ‘Raw Pastiche’
Cappo & Mr Brown join forces to bring you ‘Raw Pastiche’
“This work doesn’t equate to that of Eno and Schmidt, but the intention is there. To articulate an ideology—bring what we have obsessed over, studied and cultivated for years—and present it in unheard, unparalleled ways. Illustrated in a new shade, but with borrowed tools, wrought from a much-used urn”
Armed Dukes ‘Trident’
Inspired by eerie Cold War vistas this new album features hard knocking beats and atmospheric interludes. Sonically the album references the old methods and classics of an era long past but with that comes a new dawn, a new way of sequencing break beats and loops into a fresh sound.. Drums lovingly chopped, samples carefully separated then reassembled on crunchy 12 bit samplers and mixed in each members own unique way.
Mo Fingaz ‘Gusto’
‘Gusto’ is Mo Fingaz first full-length project; a 15 track collection of beats and compositions produced over the past two years. Lo-fi hip hop instrumentals crafted together with love, analog drum machines, samplers, live instruments and dusty old vinyl. This album is unashamedly one to nod your head to, and not one to be sleeping on.
Mr Brown ‘Magnetic Storage’
‘Magnetic Storage’ is a selection of 12 instrumental beats made by Mr Brown between 2011 – 2018. If you like raw, crunchy, SP1200 boom bap beats then this is a project for you. You can grab it now via bandcamp on this DIGITAL ONLY ‘Beat Tape’ style release.
The Cromagnon Band ‘Green Smoke/Thunder Perfect’
Stripped of all this context it’s hard to tell whether The Cromagnon Band recorded these two tracks last week or last millenium. It’s as easy to believe they could have been sample fodder for the golden age as it is to understand that they were inspired by it. Not dated, but timeless.
Dj Drinks ‘Nightline’
‘Nightline’ is a distillation of records, sampled, de constructed and methodically reconstructed using the legendary EMU Systems SP1200 & Emax samplers to create straight forward, emotive & atmospheric instrumentals with a raw, purist, boom bap approach.
Armed Dukes ‘Calibre’
This is an album guaranteed to satiate any hip hop aficionado’s craving for raw, no nonsense 12-Bit boom bap while also providing new, desperately needed flavours to the instrumental Hip Hop scene. Once you hear it you’ll agree this is an album with a sonic texture all of it’s own.
Confucius MC & Mr Brown ‘The Artform’
Thematically built on their shared interests the album examines the nature of art and the role of the artist in a subtle and conscious manner, stimulating the brain as well as the ears. With 7 tracks in total THE ARTFORM is necessary listening for anyone who likes well-produced, intelligently written, thought-provoking modern hip-hop.
